More than a hundred people participate in ordination to the ancionato in Ribeirão Preto - SP

The ceremony gathered a large number of people and featured moments of fellowship, music, preaching and ministerial commitment.

On 22/08/2026, the Igreja Adventista do Sétimo Dia – Movimento de Reforma, held in Ribeirão Preto-SP, the ordination ceremony of the worker Washington Oliveira to the ancionato.

The event gathered more than 100 people, representing seven churches, and included moments of fellowship, music, preaching and commitment to the ancionato.

Program schedule brought together different churches

The activities began with the Sabbath School, led by the sisters from the churches of Registro and São José do Rio Preto. The program also featured special musical contributions from the brothers of São José do Rio Preto and the choir of Ribeirão Preto.

The sermon was presented by Davi Germano, president of the Associação Nordeste-Sul Paulista (ANESP), on the theme “The Marketing of the Gospel”.

After the service, the participants shared a lunch. At 2 p.m., the ordination meeting of missionary Washington began.

Ceremony highlighted qualifications and pastoral commitment

The ordination meeting began with a message presented by the president of ANESP, addressing the qualifications needed for pastoral ministry.

Next, André Tavares, secretary of ANESP, gave a brief biography of the missionary, including information about his ministry work and his family.

Later, Luiz Leon, pastor and vice‑president of ANESP, read the pastoral commitment vow. During this moment, Washington publicly declared his fidelity to the commitment assumed with the ancionato.

Then the ordination ceremony was performed, with the laying on of hands upon the missionary.

After the ordination, Washington was received by the secretary of the Association and the present vocations, being introduced as the newest member to the ancionato of the Igreja Adventista do Sétimo Dia – Movimento de Reforma.

Thanksgiving and closing

After the ceremony, the newly ordained Washington Oliveira gave a brief thank‑you and presented some biblical considerations related to the pastoral role.

Next, the choirs of Ribeirão Preto and Pontal presented a final hymn. The meeting was closed with the priestly blessing pronounced by the newly ordained.

At the end, the church members congratulated Washington on the ordination and, afterwards, a snack was served to the participants.

The program represented a moment of fellowship among different churches and a public recognition of the commitment assumed by Washington to the ancionato.
